National patent granted

The 14th Czech national patent, named „Copper complexes with (E)-1-(2´-hydroxyphenyl)-3-phenylprop-2-en-1-one derivatives and their use as drugs in anticancer therapy “(CZ 307046 B6, inventors: Trávníček, Z.; Vančo, J.; Hutyra, J.; Křikavová, R.; Dvořák, Z.), granted on November 1, 2017 to the team led by prof. Zdeněk Trávníček, protects the use of the highly anti-cancer active copper(II) complexes with the general formula [Cu(L1)(L2)]X, where L1 denotes the anion of (E)-1-(2´-hydroxyphenyl)-3-phenylprop-2-en-1-one, L2 is either derivative of 1,10-phenanthroline or 2,2´-bipyridine and X represents inorganic or small organic anion, for the treatment of cancer, especially for the treatment of cervical carcinoma and/or prostate carcinoma and/or breast adenocarcinoma and/or prostate adenocarcinoma and/or hepatocellular carcinoma and/or osteosarcoma and/or pulmonary adenocarcinoma.
