The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic has supported research in the field of technologies applicable to the purification process of raw sugar juices.

Project name: New methods for the treatment of the light fraction from hydrocyclone as a by-product of the recycling of Ca++ compounds in the purification process of raw sugar juices.

  • Project Number: FW12010525
  • Principal Investigator at UP: Assoc. Prof. RNDr. Michal Čajan, Ph.D.
  • Industrial Partner: FutureCycling Technology, a.s.
  • Funding: Total CZK 35,500,000, of which CZK 16,100,000 is allocated to Palacký University Olomouc
  • Duration: 01/2025–12/2027

The main aim of the project is to develop, validate, and test a comprehensive solution for the efficient processing of the light fraction from hydrocyclone, generated as a by-product of the RECLIME® recycling system. This will be achieved through targeted research and development activities, focusing on the application of novel separation methods and the use of innovative materials. A key component of the project also involves the effective utilisation of waste material recovered and treated within the separation and adsorption phases, specifically for use in agricultural crop production. The project will deliver a functional prototype and a validated technology as its key outcomes.
