Projekt AUGER: Reportáž ve zprávách na ČT1

On Thursday, June 21, project Auger was mentioned in the main news of Czech TV. The project involved staff from the RCPTM – workgroup Optical and photonic technologies. The Pierre Auger Cosmic Ray Observatory is studying ultra-high energy cosmic rays, the most energetic and rarest of particles in the universe. When these particles strike the earth’s atmosphere, they produce extensive air showers made of billions of secondary particles. While much progress has been made in nearly a century of research in understanding cosmic rays with low to moderate energies, those with extremely high energies remain mysterious.

Česká televize 21.6.2012 informovala ve večerní zpravodajské relaci Události o projektu AUGER, na jehož uskutečnění se velkým dílem podílí i pracovníci RCPTM z pracovní skupiny Optical and photonic technologies.
