Biologically Active Complexes and Molecular Magnets

Research Areas

The research focus of this group can be divided into two main areas.

The first is the development of new types of biologically active coordination compounds of selected transition metals, led by efforts to prepare compounds with medical application potential, e.g. substances with anti-tumour, anti-inflammatory or anti-diabetic effects.

Scientists are also engaged in the preparation and study of molecular magnets and molecular switches based on transitional metal complexes with application potential in sensors, high-density storage or recording media, etc.
