Michal Otyepka is a member of GACR Scientific Advisory Board
The Head of CATRIN-RCPTM Michal Otyepka has become a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Czech Science Foundation. His nomination was decided on 30 October 2020 by the Research, Development and Innovation Council (RVVI). He was subsequently appointed in November.
The Physical chemist was proposed to the conceptual body of GACR for the area of inanimate nature. The other nominee, for humanities, was the historian Rudolf Kučera.
The Scientific Advisory Board proposes the Discipline Committees’ composition and the scope of focus, evaluates the GACR contribution to the development and quality of fundamental research in the Czech Republic, and proposes necessary measures.
The GACR Scientific Advisory Board has 12 members, appointed and dismissed by the Government on the Research, Development and Innovation Council’s proposal. Members are appointed for four years with the possibility of two consecutive terms. The chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board is Jaroslav Doležel, the Head of the Olomouc division of the Institute of Experimental Botany of the Czech Academy of Sciences and the Scientific Director of the Centre of the Region Haná for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research.
