New website provides instructions for preparing disinfection as well as advice on how to prevent coronavirus infection

COVID 19; how to combat it? This is the subtitle of the new website https://covid.rcptm.com  being launched today by Regional Centre of Advanced Technology and Materials (RCPTM). Within minutes, you will be able to find important advice on how to effectively prevent the disease, accompanied by a short video instructing on how to prepare hand sanitizer.

This is another example of how the RCPTM employees are trying to help to combat the disease. Since 16 March, they have been preparing in their labs solution for hand disinfection according to World Health Organization standards. In total, they have already mixed hundreds of litres of disinfection for clients mainly of social and medical facilities.

“We came up with the idea of sharing the experience with mixing disinfection, knowing that it’s still in demand across different institutions as well as households. That was the initial step, closer to starting a new website providing information aimed at preventing the disease, especially hand hygiene. The aim was to make the communication understandable, concise and clear, with visitors finding out everything relevant in one place in a very short time,” said one of the graphic designers collaborating with RCPTM Zoran Kerkez.

The content of the website was handled within a few days by young RCPTM scientists Tomáš Malina and David Panáček. “We have focused in particular on prevention, in which we consider proper hand hygiene to be the most important. Its basic principles are also available on the web in a form that candidates can print and post at home or perhaps in the workplace. Gradually, we will be adding more information related to prevention. We are all gaining new experience and more and more questions are arising, for which it’s good to have the answers supported by relevant facts. That’s why we will update the site,” said Tomáš Malina.

The website also contains links to sources of important information and updates related to the fight against the pandemic.
